    G. ESCOFFIER ~ Early 7.25" SHEEP HERDER w/LAMB (Terra Cotta) ~ France
    Description of item...
    Here we have a wonderful early hand made and (detailed) hand painted terra cotta or local Provence clay based SHEEP HERDER carrying a lost LAMB holding a walking stick figurine by G. Escoffier of France. It measures approx. 7 1/4" high x 2 1/4" in base diameter x 4" mid arms wide. It is in very good maintained (displayed used) condition with no damage noted currently showing very slight aging which is not at all offensive. The base, hands, body and painted face are terra cotta clay, the inner arms are wire, the clothes are varied textiles, the walking stick is wood. The front top base is marked, "G.ESCOFFIER" and the bottom is marked with an applied sticker, "7 - '95 ~ Avignon France." Came from a well cared for private home collection brought back from Avignon, France in July of 1995...exact age is unknown. This item weighs approx. 1/2 lb., add 1 1/2 lbs. or so for the packing box and packing material. I combine shipping when safe and practical for all items purchased.
