RARE Grand Tour Paris Porte St Denis France Music Box Souvenir

Here is a music box that I believe was a souvenir from the Grand Tour times.  It measures 1 1/4" high by 4" wide by 2 1/2" deep.  I do not have a key and when I tried to wind it with needle nose plyers it feels stuck.  I do not want to damage it any further.  If I turn the stem the opposite way it plays music.  There appears to be a tooth missing on the very end.  The case is in well worn and damaged condition which I have photographed.  There are two mother of pearl buttons on the front.  One is a locking mech for the music and not sure what the other one does.  On the hinged lid is a Parisian scene and Paris Porte St Denis.  Good luck.
